    First thing that comes to my mind (not science backed) is that the glass part of whoop makes your skin sweat more at that spot and maybe a bit weaker. Once removed it starts to dry out and thus make your skin peel. I don't think it's the actual sensor as those are just 2 small dots. You would only see 2 dots of irritation if it was the sensor.
